Yin Yoga Livestream Group Class

 
 

Sunday is a day for creating space in the body and in the mind. This yoga class will support that idea by focusing on slow and easeful postures intended to increase flexibility and remove tension. Expect long holds, deep breaths, and the experience of stretching and softening into your body and mind.

Yin Yoga is a style of yoga which targets the connective tissue, tendons and ligaments of the body through poses that are held for longer periods of time generally  from two to five minutes. Different Yin yoga poses stimulate and remove blockages in the meridians in the body, which in turn balances the body’s internal organs and systems. In the Tao philosophy of Yin & Yang, Yin is feminine, ruled by the moon and is about experiencing receiving and sweet surrender. It’s deeply meditative and will address cranky knees, hips and shoulders! Yin allows us time to sit with ourselves, to just be still, and to notice what the body and mind are telling us. Expect some wisdom and poetry readings and a playlist to enjoy!
